Individualizing an IEP can be so tough, but it doesn't have to be!  I'm so excited to have Alli from n2y here because there's so much that they deliver to our Special Education community.  Master IEP Coach® and n2y have been working together for a few years now to help provide better solutions to Special Education programs and parents across the country, and build a team atmosphere at the IEP table, which we all know can be a challenge!  One of the hardest tasks an IEP team can face is how to individualize a program for a student, n2y has the tools to help!

So what is n2y?  n2y focuses on the unique learning needs of students and provides solutions like Unique Learning Systems that will provide access to general education curriculum and help them to reach grade-level curriculum goals with differentiated supports for reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and more. There are also other solutions like News2You which provides weekly current event articles to support a student's literacy and reading deficits while learning about what's going on in the world around them.   It doesn't stop there!  n2y is looking at the whole child, so it also has communication aides, educational games for high-interest skill practice, and so much more.

One program that IEP teams need to check out is Polaris, a collaborative system for IEP development and implementation.  "It takes all the great information that's going around in our student's performance, in their assessments, what teams are seeing with observations, and pulls it together to help an IEP team really make a good plan for success for a student," says Alli.   While Polaris is only available for schools to purchase, parents you can always ask for your school to explore adding Polaris to your IEP toolbox.

We talk about this all the time in the Master IEP Coach® Mentorship and community: we have to start with the parent's vision of success for their child.  n2y knows how important it is to make parents feel comfortable and welcome and active participants in the conversation.  That's why Polaris includes built-in Parent Surveys based on the child's age, and then it generates recommendations for further assessments, performance data, and potential goals, all based on the parent's input and concerns.  It's magical!

Now, let's talk Data!  From observations to assessments to daily performance, Polaris can pull in data from across the board to analyze and generate potential goals and determine what is most important to focus on.  Having multiple lenses placed in one area is really important!  Once you have your goals set, Polaris can track that daily performance as well!

Updating out-of-date materials can take up an enormous amount of your precious time.  Yep, n2y can help with that, too!  Every year, n2y updates the unit and materials that teachers receive so that references for our students are meaningful and easily recognizable.

One final solution n2y provides to its users is custom training and checklists based on the data and timeline of your IEP.   Coming to an IEP team, knowledge is key!  Maybe you're a brand new teacher who needs extra support in writing an IEP or leading a valuable meeting, maybe your student's data is trending towards "Goal Not Met" — there are built-in milestones recommended based on the information provided.

As if that's not enough, n2y is always coming out with new things!  Be sure to tune in around the 18-minute mark to hear what's on the horizon!

We love working with n2y at our Master IEP Coach® events and IEP training!  Our sticker station in Milwaukee this summer was a HUGE hit!  We can't wait to do it again at our IEP Leadership Retreat in Orlando in October.  Grab your spot at www.masteriepcoach.com/florida!  Only 2 spots left!
