Special Ed Teachers Should NOT Have to Chose THIS!

I’ve sat at the IEP table as a teacher, wondering if I can say what I really want to say and not get a pink slip delivered in my mailbox on Friday.

I’ve sat at the IEP table, supporting parents, watching teachers squirm. I could see that look on their face. The internal struggle that I experienced so many years ago.

We’re 45 years into Special Education being mandated in all states. An appropriate education for every child should be happening everywhere. Yet, IEP teams are still struggling like this process is brand new.

Special Education Teachers went to school to master how to teach children with different abilities. They work the long hours and care with all their heart, but at some point, they will hit a crossroads…

Do I speak up or do I keep my job?

This shouldn’t be a choice they have to make.

Our Special Education system can do better.

You can be part of the solution.
